I recently stayed at Koro Sun in Savusavu, Fiji, and while I absolutely loved the beauty of the surroundings and the friendliness of the staff, I found some aspects less than ideal. The overwater bures offered a beautiful view but lacked privacy, so I opted for the edge water bure which was fantastic. However, the dining options were limited which could be frustrating for some. Overall, it's a perfect destination for relaxation, but some areas could use improvement.

We initially stayed in the overwater bure, which was charming but lacked privacy. After moving to the edge water bure, we enjoyed a spacious room with a private pool, fantastic views, and a proper bathroom.

Dining options were somewhat limited with early closing hours. The food was okay, but I wish there were more selections, especially for late-night snacks.

Koro Sun Resort offers an incredibly warm and authentic Fiji experience, perfect for getting away from the hustle of luxury resorts. The bures provide breathtaking views and easy access to the sea, but some could use a bit of updating. The dining options are worth mentioning for their quality and local flair, while the staff goes above and beyond to make your stay special. However, some guests reported booking mishaps that can be frustrating.

Our stay was a mix of wonderful moments and a few disappointments. The setting is absolutely stunning, and we had a lot of fun snorkeling. However, we faced some maintenance issues and service drawbacks that detracted from the overall experience. While dining was enjoyable, we had some miscommunication regarding menu items.

Rooms
7.0
We experienced both a floating bure and a lighthouse room, but found the lack of storage space frustrating. More hangers and drawer options would have helped immensely.
Service

The staff were friendly and helpful, but the service at the bar was quite slow, affecting our overall experience.

The food was lovely and beautifully plated, though we encountered some inconsistencies with menu items and were charged incorrectly several times.

The snorkeling trips organized by the dive shop were fantastic, and the amenities were overall very good, though some could use better upkeep.

I had a lovely stay at Koro Sun, where the setting was beautiful and the staff were welcoming. The Floating Bure was such a unique experience, with fish swimming right underneath us! However, the dining options were a bit pricey and sometimes confusing, especially regarding reservations. Overall, it was a peaceful getaway with plenty of activities and a stunning view.

Rooms

The Floating Bure was clean and comfortable, with a nice deck to enjoy the views. It was a unique experience being right on the water.
Service

Most of the staff were friendly and accommodating, although we did experience a bit of inconsistency with service at times.
Location
10.0
The resort is set in a beautiful location, surrounded by nature and right by the ocean, which made for a peaceful atmosphere.
Dining
7.0
The food was generally good, but on the pricier side. The seafood restaurant required reservations, which could have been communicated better.
Facilities
8.0
The amenities were nice, including several pools and options for activities like paddle boarding and snorkeling. However, I wish there were more straightforward dining options.

My stay at the resort was quite the rollercoaster, with some incredible moments and a few disappointing ones. The staff were definitely a highlight, being warm and inviting, but I found the accommodation to be lacking when it came to cleanliness and upkeep. The location was lovely, offering a nice escape in nature, but the dining options left a lot to be desired. Overall, it feels like there's a lot of potential here, but some serious improvements are needed.

Rooms
5.0
We initially had a floating bure that felt quite outdated and cramped, reminiscent of a 1970s caravan, and was definitely not worth the high price. The upgrade to the Edgewater Bure was better, but even then, cleanliness issues persisted.
Service
6.0
The staff were well-meaning and tried to be accommodating, but the lack of organization and communication was frustrating at times, especially during arrivals and dining.
Location
8.0
The location is nestled in nature and has beautiful views, making it a peaceful retreat. I enjoyed the rain forest surroundings, but it does feel somewhat isolated.
Dining
5.0
Dining was a major letdown. The options were limited, especially for dietary restrictions, and there was often confusion with orders.
Facilities
5.0
While the facilities seem to have potential, many aspects were in need of maintenance and cleanliness, which overshadowed the good offerings.
